Program Description: 
The ENMU Child Development Center and Laboratory School offers full-day care for 2-year-olds and preschoolers. The CDC's exemplary early childhood education model provides observation and participatory experiences for ENMU students preparing to be early childhood teachers as well as those students preparing to be child and family specialists. It also serves as a research site for the College of Education and Technology and for the university.

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide a stimulating, safe, and engaging environment for children and college students to explore and learn
• Model best practices for children, college students, peers, and families
• Develop, implement, and maintain daily lesson plans and binder
• Develop and complete child portfolios and review with parents each semester
• Host and evaluate special activities for children and families, including evening family event at least once per semester (fall and spring)
• Complete appropriate paperwork and documentation
• Collaboratively oversee correspondence and bulletin boards with director and other teachers
• Maintain communication with families and community through appropriate outreach activities
• Abide by CDC and ENMU policies and procedures, child care licensing and quality standards, teacher licensure requirements and standards, and NAEYC's Code of Ethical Conduct
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
• Work collaboratively with CDC staff and professors to facilitate lab experiences
• Oversee and assess lab students as assigned
• Develop and maintain NAYEC Classroom Portfolio as required
• Attend planned staff meetings, Center events, and parent/guardian meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, special education or related field and a minimum of one year of experience directly related to the duties specified is required. The position requires clearance of criminal records check and a current first aid/CPR certification (or completed within 60 days of hire). The position requires annual training per licensing. Teaching license preferred, but not required.
