Northwest New Mexico First Born
Program Description: 
Community based home visiting program focusing on first time families, prenatally to 3 years of age. Research based curriculum developed and operates in 16 New Mexico counties, focuses on healthy pregnancy, child's physical, emotional and social development and family supports.

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Travel to home and community locations within Shiprock and San Juan County to provide support and education to first time families utilizing the First Born curriculum. Attend staff meetings and scheduled training sessions.
Maintain a caseload as determined by the program manager
Maintain records and submit reports according to program standards and requirements.
Maintain confidentiality/HIPAA guidelines of families receiving NWNM First Born services.
Recognize the need to be understanding of different backgrounds, family situations, and values and to implement culturally sensitive services.
Represent and advocate for NWNM First Born in the community and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and other community partners.
Collaborate and coordinate services with other community agencies.
Serve on community advisory committees as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Information or Requirements: 

Bachelors degree in Early Childhood, Human Services, Social Work, Education, Nursing or other related fields.
Prefer bi-lingual, Navajo speaking
