Program Description: 
HELP-New Mexico (HELP-NM) is a statewide community-based organization, and a community action agency whose mission is to create self-sufficiency and promote economic opportunities to strengthen families. Today, HELP-NM’s four main areas of service are Early Childhood Education, Workforce Development, Family Services, and Community Economic Development. The key services in Early Childhood Education include Head Start, Early Head Start, State Pre-Kindergarten, and a fee-for-service childcare center.

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Responsible for preparing, purchasing, storing and serving food in accordance with USDA/CACFP and New Mexico Environmental Division and other related child nutrition policies and procedures. Must possess skills and ability to adapt to daily fast-paced food service environment for young children and work cooperatively and supportively with center staff.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Food Handler’s Manager Certification or Willing to Obtain
• Minimum of 1-year food service experience; cooking for children preferred
• Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) Preferred
• Valid New Mexico’s Driver’s License
• Current First Aid/CPR Certifications or willing to obtain
