HELP-New Mexico (HELP-NM) is a statewide community-based organization, and a community action agency whose mission is to create self-sufficiency and promote economic opportunities to strengthen families. Today, HELP-NM’s four main areas of service are Early Childhood Education, Workforce Development, Family Services, and Community Economic Development. The key services in Early Childhood Education include Head Start, Early Head Start, State Pre-Kindergarten, and a fee-for-service childcare center.

Responsibilities
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Under the direction of the Vice President, this position works under broad, administrative direction with responsibility for providing strategic leadership and direction in the planning, implementing, improving, and evaluating of the Head Start, Early Head Start and NM Pre-K programs within the OLAO Division and promoting operational improvements. Also provides direct supervision of management staff; assists with the development of program budgets, writing of grant funding applications, and monitors program expenses. Will also assist in the setting, tracking and achieving all programmatic goals, as well as oversee all program management systems of operation as designated by the OLAO Vice-President.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Required:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (including, but not limited to: Human Services, Family Services, Social Work, Community Development, Business or Family/Child Science).
• Over 1-year of experience in a management position within a Head Start or Pre-K program.
• Over one year of experience in direct supervision of employees setting employee goals, day-to-day management of employees, and conducting employee performance evaluations.
• Over one year of experience in fiscal management including budget development, expense management, budget vs. actual reporting, budget forecasting and fiscal planning.
• Strong computer skills with spreadsheet applications including Excel and strong word processing skills and use of financial system applications.
