Public Policy Committee

Committee Responsibilities

The goal of NMAEYC's Public Policy Committee is to advocate for early learning and education at the local, state and national level.

This includes advocating for:

  • Our organization’s members fair wages
  • Quality programming
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Public awareness of the importance of quality early childhood programs

The Public Policy Committee is responsible for establishing NMAEYC’s policy positions.

We coordinate with other committees and partners to educate New Mexicans about the impact of early childhood incentives on our future.

Committee Members

The Committee is chaired/facilitated by the elected office of Vice President – Public Policy who is a voting member of the state board.  All twelve committee members serve as non-voting members of the NMAEYC Board, and represent all regions/areas of the state.
